Together in Motion is a workshop that explores partnering techniques within contemporary dance. We focus on dynamic interactions between two bodies, gradually evolving into group exercises. Our primary aim is to foster confidence in contemporary dancers when engaging in partner and group work. By implementing the fundamental principles of physical interaction, we guide participants on how to touch, move, and collaborate effectively in shared spaces. The workshop is strategically designed to provide an understanding of partnering technique, creating a foundation for advanced elements. By progressively building confidence, participants unlock their playfulness and become more willing to face challenging partner elements.
Niki&Martin Duo, a dance partnership specializing in contemporary dance, currently calls Vienna its creative home. Established in 2019 by Nikola Majtanova from Slovakia (SVK) and Marcin Denkiewicz from Poland (PL), the duo ‘ s origin took place during their studies of contemporary dance, performance, and pedagogy at ABU in Linz, Austria. Since then, Niki&Martin have embarked on an exciting journey, weaving their artistic threads through diverse projects spanning dance, photography, film, and theater across multiple countries, including Poland, Austria, South Korea, Spain, Greece, Croatia, France, Germany, and the United States. They collaborated with choreographers such as Editta Braun, LAJAMARTIN, Paul Blackman, and Jan Lauwers, among others.
