Wushu is the chinese Word for Martial Arts and has a long tradition and history with countless styles and variations.
Modern Wushu blends a variaty of Kung Fu styles into acrobatic and explosive choreographies, with the most prominent practitioners being action movie stars like Jet Li or Jacky Chan.
In this class we will lern the basics of wushu including stances, kicks and basic forms.
We will lern basic acrobatic moves and jumps, incoporating them into our choreographies
We’ll also bring in some exciting elements like practicing with staff and sword, implementing them into our choreographies.
Along the way, we’ll include meditative practices originating from chinese Qi Gong and Tai Chi to help ground us.
